For many people who want to immigrate to Canada, it’s about all the benefits that the True North has to offer. However, it's good to remember that the essence of programs like Express Entry and the Provincial Nominee Program is that Canada needs immigrants. There is no better example of this than the way in which the province of Manitoba has embraced and celebrated immigrants who have added so much to the local economy. In this blog, we tell the story of Lli Kurshell
The Canadian government is proud of the way immigrants are embraced in different provinces and display various success stories in one section of their website. One of these stories focuses on Lili Kurshell, who has not only successfully immigrated to the province of Manitoba but who has also launched and maintained successful businesses. One of these being a bed and breakfast. Lili fondly expresses how happy she is in the country, and how the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program has helped her family to plant roots in the Manitoba province. Lili’s story is an important one as it represents the quality of life and job opportunity that attract so many people to Canada while simultaneously reflecting the way in which newcomers can make positive contributions to the Canadian economy.
The Express Entry System is not an immigration program itself, but rather manages the pool of candidates for Canada’s three Federal Economic Immigration programs, namely the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Skilled Trades Program and the Canadian Experience Class. Applicants are ranked according to the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), which is a points system based on information such as age, qualifications and work experience. Express Entry Draws are held every 2 weeks, where candidates are ranked against each other and those with the highest CRS scores will receive Invitations to Apply(ITA’s) for permanent residency. An ITA signals a period of 60 days in which candidates can submit their permanent residence application
