Agri-food Immigration Pilot
Get permanent residency when you immigrate to Canada through the Agri-food Immigration pilot.
The Agri-food Immigration Pilot creates the opportunity for farm workers, food processing workers and many others with employment in the agricultural industry to obtain permanent residency in Canada.
What is the Agri-food Immigration Pilot?
The pilot was designed to help workers in the agriculture industry with permanent non-seasonal jobs obtain permanent residency in Canada. To be eligible you must have at least one year of continuous, full-time non-seasonal work experience in Canada, in the last three years. 2,750 applicants will be granted permanent residency in Canada every year through the pilot which is planned to run until June 2023
One in eight jobs across Canada are in the agricultural industry. Occupations that are eligible for the pilot are; retail butchers, industrial butchers, farm supervisors and specialized livestock workers, general farm workers, harvesting labourers (including mushroom production) and food processing labourers. Canada\'s minister for immigration has made it clear through the implementation of this program that the support of foreign workers is needed to help maintain the country’s strong and central agricultural sector.
