The International Mobility Program

The Canada-Peru Free Trade Agreement

The signing of the Canada-Peru Free Trade Agreement (FTA) happened in 2008 and came into effect on August 1, 2009. The twelfth chapter of the agreement is entitled Temporary Entry for Business Persons. It is based on the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) but contains some differences, which are highlighted below. In Chapter 12 of the agreement there are some provisions similar to the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) - now known as CUSMA - with some differences. This agreement grants temporary candidates access to four types of business persons, namely:
